Question sticks: glucose or ketone?

Hi -- I tried Atkins about a year ago and had such a rough time of it that I quit (crying over an orange, no joke).

I'm trying again and went to pick up some new clinistix only to find that they weren't carried anymore. Now there are two versions: one for glucose under another name and one for ketones. Let me know what you guys prefer and why, please.

I just want to verify something, too: once I'm done with induction I will still continue to lose weight? Or should I stay in induction until I've lost the weight I want to lose? (Basic one, eh?)

Thanks!

The stix are meant to check for ketosis so the ketone stix are the correct ones. But you should read some of the threads about the stix before you buy them. They can be unreliable. You can be in ketosis without it ever showing on the stix. The stix just measure excess ketones and don't tell whether the ketones are from dietary fat or body fat. Dr. Atkins said if you are eating correctly and losing weight you are in ketosis, no matter what the stix say.

You only have another 15 lbs. to go. You need to prepare yourself for maintenance. That means going through OWL and finding your critical carb level and maintenance level. Reread the chapters in DANDR about OWL and Maintenance.
