Default Does this mean that sugar alcohols are affecting me?

A question..
I heard that sugar alcohols affect some and dont' affect some. I'm not really sure if they do or not because I'm barely on my 5th day on Atkins. But I did notice after consuming foods w/ sugar alcohols, I crave more sweets, and I get gas and feel bloated (a symptom that's caused by sugar alcohols according to the article on this site). Does this mean that they're raising my blood and insulin level? Also, wut are some of the other "symptoms" that may indicate that they're affecting me?? Thanks for your help

Hi h_AnNaH <3,

Sugar alcohols can make you crave sweet things - especially if you have a sweet tooth like me! Their usual effect on me is a laxative one which is good or bad depending on if you want it at that time. People react differently to them - but if you are finding they trigger your sweet tooth maybe you should leave them alone.

Hi there!

For whatever it's worth... My experience with Sugar alcohols. It really slowed my weight loss & after eatting a LC treat, a little while later, I was hungry. Also, I found that eatting LC treats it was hard to fit in the vegies because I was devoting the carb count to the LC treats. Today, I don't eat LC treats, only on a special occasion & I've replaced them with real food... and I've been much happier.

Plus, I don't have to worry about passing gas infront of people!!
