Default Was pondering some old infomation

Back when I was in college ('92 - '95) I had a bad infection one night. Was pretty sick if I remember correctly, with high fever.

The reason I was pondering this is because I was put in the hospital with a white count of 26500. They put me on drip antibotics and I got over that.

Next thing that happened about 2 months later is that I woke up in my bed with fire ants all over me (they didn't bit me).

So, I am wondering now if I had insanely high blood sugar at that point and didn't know it? I am also wondering if that has something to do with my current Type II Diabetes?

Just making conversation I suppose. I have requested my medical records from the hospital I was in, just to see if there is any abnormality of the full panel bloodwork they pulled on me 3-4 times.

Later,
wsgts

BTW, I weighed about 300 then... I was diagnosed with Type II in 2001.

My Mom's best friend has Type II. She swears that it is from a really bad virus she had 15 years ago, as she had no symtoms or high BG before that. She came home from the hospital and immediately began to have constant thirst and bladder problems. When the Dr checked her BG a few weeks later...it was 280. She has been on insulin ever since becos of misinformation and the fact that she does not want to exercise or give up carbs. HTH

Weird about those fire ants! I was bitten by several of them once and it was quite unpleasant...you are lucky!

We are guessing the ants were attracted to sugar in my sweat, although we don't know for sure. Ants had never gotten into that house before, and we never had problems with them, but they were definetely on me. We aren't talking 50 or so, more like 500,000 or so.

Later,
