Default feel blah after exercising today--why?

I'm in Day 5 of induction. Had a cheese omelet & 2 strips bacon this a.m. and went to my usual step aerobics class at 11:30 a.m.

About 10 min into the workout, I felt awful. Got v. hot although I drank lots of water. Couldn't cool off afterwards.

I felt great this morning--had to cinch up some too-loose pants with a belt. I followed this same eating & exercise plan Day 1 and 3 and felt fine. But after exercising today I feel weak, bloated, hot-flashy and just plain awful. I keep drinking water & sitting in front of the fan trying to feel better.

Has this happened to others? I read the thread on early a.m. workouts, but I love this aerobics class, it fits well into my schedule, and I really want to keep going with it.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hi Virgina,
I couldn't exercise when I tried induction, I have since switched to The Schwarzbein Principle as I can have more carbs which are adjusted to my level of activity. I'm sure that other Atkins followers can offer suggestions to you. Good luck to you. Maureen

Default a plan that won't let you exercise?

Thanks for your input. I may have to experiment w/other plans if I this happens again.

I took a potassium supplement yesterday for the first time since I started. what are the symptoms of low potassium? Maybe that's my problem.

A lot of things about Atkins remind me of that Seinfeld episode where George did everything the opposite of what he usually did! I don't mind eating fat and protein, but I don't want to stop exercising.

Virginia, you don't have to stop exercising forever. But you do need to let your body adapt to burning a new fuel. All LC plans suggest that you curtail activities when you switch from glucose to fatty acids. Take the time off, rest up and get familiar with your plan then ease back into working out slowly and build up to your preLC intensity levels. You'll still lose the fat during the 2 weeks of induction and you'll be ready to start pushing your metabolism into overdrive when you start back up.
