Default Sugar Alcohols - Friend Or Foe?

So ive noticed many new low carb foods, especially candy and choclates, that containt high levels of carbs (20-30g) but only 2-3 net effective carbs, and the rest being sugar alcohols. Information on the web is sketchy about whether these really have an affect on blood sugar levels - so im hoping someone can provide some information before i dig in to those great snacks.

thanks

There is an excellent article on Sugar Alcohols in Low Carb Tips at the top of the page.

Many people experience a stall in weight loss and gastric "disturbances" by using these products, so proceed with caution.

Also many posts and discussions right here in the Products Forum, to get a take on different individual reactions.

The SEARCH feature (the wee globe & magnifying glass) on the upper right of your screen is a WONDERFUL tool, especially for those new here, Yossi. Do take advantage.
