Sore swollen boobs

I've never suffered from PMS, lucky really, just about half a day beforehand when I get a bit weepy.

But the last couple of months, I've had really swollen, sore boobs for nearly a week before my TOM - normally it has only happened on that day before.

Does anyone know what causes this and if there's anything I can do about it?

I've read from other threads that LC can cause breakthrough bleeding, but generally seemed to lessen PM symptoms.

I don't get any other PM symptoms still so maybe I shouldn't be whingeing, but if anyone's got any answers or solutions I'd be grateful.

Since I am new to this site, and to the LC way of life, I cannot tell you if it would matter or not. What I DO know - being 50 years of age - is that I have experienced periods like you are describing from time to time without really understanding why they happen.
3 - 4 months of PM swollen, sore breasts, and then a long period with no special PMS symptoms at all. Maybe it is just a phase?
In those periods a good "sturdy" kind of bra can be of help.

I've had the same problem as of late, but I stopped taking the BC pill 3 months ago, and this month it has been the worse. So for me, I am starting the BC again today. I too hoped that LC would have helped the PMS symptoms if I stopped the BC pill - but alas no luck.

I too experience the same as you even after a partial hysterectomy in 1998.

I can only attribute it to my normal ovulation time which I still experience as I have ovaries.

I noticed a change in my symptoms once I hit 30. I don't know how old you are, but your cycle will change due to aging. I got sore breasts for the first time in the past year as well and I know it is not due to LCing as I have only been doing that for the past month.

The nice thing is that this TOM I got NO swelling! It was my first since LCing and I loved that.
