Question Thirsty

Today is my first day of induction and everything is going good except that I feel constantly thirsty! Well not exactly constantly but more thirsty than regular -- is this normal???

Very normal. Drink, drink and DRINK.

As an absolute minimum, you want to drink 72 to 80 ounces of water. Many of us seldom drink less than 128 oz (1 gal) and quite a few are in the 2 gal range.

The more water you drink, the quicker you will get through the detox and the better the symptoms will be - though they may still be unpleasant. Just remember that the rough period of Induction is VERY temporary and you will feel so much better once you get through it.

Hi Ann

Yes, you are experiencing a quite normal reaction - so as William says, drink, drink, drink - particularly water. This will flush all those nasty carbs out of your system and get started on flushing your fat away too.

Hi Ann,

Just wanted to echo what everyone else in the thread has said. I have started Atkins twice and I am going through the "Big Thirst" right now too. The first time I started Atkins and went through it I was really concerned because I didn't know what was going on. So drink Wa-Wa to your hearts content. Ya body will love you for it.

Jim
