Cool I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO STARTING AND MAINTAING THIS JOURNEY

Hi All,

I am once again starting my journey for a thinner, better me. I did the atkins back in '99 from nov.1st to march 1st and lost 80lbs. I broke my foot, and that was that. No more exercise, and no more atkins. I was told to stay off that foot for 4 months, so by the time i was allowed to start, i had no desire. So, i lost 80 lbs, and have since found 85lbs. The first time i started i was at 275lbs., now i started at about 280lbs. I started in the middle of feb. and have already dropped 15 lbs. So it seems i'm back into the swing of things, i'm walking 4 miles a day, and have TONS of energy. I found this site one day when i was looking for atkins products and research, i lent my book out, and never got it back. So when i discovered this site, i was excited to say the least. There is everything i need here:recipes, exercise tips, and most of all support. I'm looking forward to spending A LOT of time with all of you.

chris

Hi, Chris! Welcome. There are a lot of (older, wiser ) restarters here, so you're in good company.

You're off to a very good restart and you know you've had success with this WOL before, so I hope it will be easy for you this time as well.

Good luck, and please let us know how things are going.

Don't be too hard on yourself - we've all fallen "off the wagon" so to speak - the important thing is we dust our selves off, forgive ourselves and move on - looking forward the whole time.

You're going to do it again, I just know it and wish you well, too!

Welcome!

Did you find the Atkins website? It's www.atkinscenter.com in case you didn't. It's got all the basic info there, too!

4 miles a day....that's great!!! Keep us posted and congratulations on making a commitment to your health!

Welcome aboard!

Real glad to hear that you're back and that things are going well so far.

Why did a broken foot end your Atkins way of eating? It's a question worth asking yourself so that you can identify potential chinks in your armor and either strengthen them or at least protect yourself there against future trials and tribulations.

I highly recommend starting a journal here to track your progress and make it easy to interact with everyone.

You'll love the site.

Keep the Faith!

Talking thanks to all 3 of you

Thanks to the three of you for welcoming me, its good to have support from people. That is actually not a problem for me, everyone around me is VERY supportive of what i'm doing. My girlfriend helps me plan and cook meals, my family is a great help in that department too. So, i have no one to pass the blame on except me.

Bill, first off i wanna say i think what your doing is great and very inspiring. I checked out your journal yesterday, very impressive. You reminded me of me when i first took on the BATTLE OF THE BULGE...keep up the good work

You asked why i stopped the atkins diet after i hurt my foot?. I'm the type of person who doesn't have a lot of patience. If i am dieting, i need to exercise along with it. I can't have one, without the other. I realized also, that i was listening to everyone when they were telling me how good i looked, and what an inspiration i was. Now i have the guilt of letting people down on my shoulders from last time. But i'm back, and i'm ready to go. I think i will start a journal.
