Question Curious about average weight loss

I was just curious to know everyone's average weight loss each week. I started Atkins in mid-January, lost 13 lbs during induction then for a couple of weeks went down 2-3 lbs. After that I'm lucky to lose 1 lb per week and have lost nothing over the last two weeks. I know I need to start exercising (I just bought a treadmill over the weekend), but I wondered if this is about average for everyone. I was hoping to lose about 2.5 lbs per week to reach goal by the end of the year.

A pound a week is good. and I would say average after induction. Remember it took a while to get heavy and it takes a while to get thin.

Jag thanks - you're right. I keep forgetting it's taken me 14 years to get this big. I'm hoping exercise will help start the weight loss again.

Hard to really say, just for myself even. I tend to loose in fits and starts...or maybe it just seems that way cause I weigh every day?

Either way, its about 2 lbs a week average for me. And like jag said too, thats including my induction losses.

I've been on this plan for a little over 2.5 months and have lost 36 pounds. That's including a week and a half where I fell off the wagon. Down from 242 to 206. Not counting the time when I cheated, I lose about an average of 3.5-4 pounds a week. But I'm 20 and my metabolism is crazy fast, and so... I really think it depends on your age and other stuff.

Oh gosh, I have been losing slow.... very very slow. I wonder if it is even working sometimes. I haven't really lost anything since the first two weeks so it hink I am going to try and stick things out for another month an a half and if I haven't lost at least 2-3lbs by then I'm gonna call it quits. I'm getting pretty discouraged.

Pandora,
Can you give me an idea what you are eating? I may be able to find some things that your are doing wrong.
Also, if any Diet is going to work you need to create a caloric deficit. here is a link to calculate BMR and then multiply by your activity level. you need to be 10-15% less than your calculated BMR. IF you cut calories to much it will slow your metabolism and you won't lose. If you eat too much you won't lose either.

Pandora, how tall are you and what is your body shape?

140 isn't very big, the loss is going to be slow. Perhaps you should concentrate on exercising and working out to increase your lean mass, which will help you lose the fat as well, but keep you at a healthy weight.

I am about 5 '5 and I generally just do running, not a lot of lifting or anything. I have an extremely muscular fram and little fat on my legs, I absolutely do not want them to get any bigger.

Weight training for women is wonderful. Women lack the testosterone necessary to bulk easily.
check out Member "built" she lifts and looks great.
Also "legwarmers" if you want to see some GREAT legs!

I started April 26 and to date I believe that's 2.67lbs a week. This included two cheat days of which I am not proud of. However, I'm trying to train my mind to brush it off and keep going.

I started out with a bang of 12 lbs gone in the first 2 weeks and then stalled over weeks 3 and 4...then had a whoosh week and now it has been averaging 1 or 2 a week or nothing at all.
