Talking ethnic foods

hi guys- i haven't eaten a lot of things besides my makeshift low carb menus, but i do want a chance to try more ethnic dishes..

does anyone out there know of any low carb dishes in ethnic cuisines that i can order in a restaurant (i.e. indian food, greek, latino, thai, chinese, mid east, ethiopian, etc??)

THANKS!

In Mexican resturants Carne Asada (flank steak) or fajitas (w/o the tortilla of course) are always a safe bet. I am not too sure about any of the other foods. What is Ethiopian food?

Ethiopian food should be low carb, course you can't eat the injara. Thai or Indian food would be fine as long as you avoid lentils, rice, noodles, although with the Thai food you should probably avoid peanut sauce as well, I think that has sugar in it. Mexican food - carne asada, chili colorado, carnitas, chili verde. Yeah, there's probably something on the menu at most ethnic restaurants.

Smile Yum!

Sashimi and Tandoori are two yummy, ethnic, lowcarb dishes that I love.

ohhhhh Sashimi. We have no where to get it here. Maybe later in the summer when we move to S. Wyo I can get some again. I could eat sashimi or other fish/seafood everynight if I could.

Thumbs up Fish= good

There are actually three sushi places on my street. I thought I'd really miss sushi (maki, etc.) but sashimi's like the best part of the sushi! Monday night we also tried a vegetable dish made of steamed spinach and cabbage. I forget wat it was called, but it was the perfect side-dish.
