Default Back on the wagon?

Hi! I went on Atkins for about three months starting last fall, and was happy with the process till some medical issues came up making me question my saturated fat intake. For the last three months, I went back to my previous way of eating, and found out how easy it was to slip into my old bad habits, especially my intake of baked goods. If I had more self-control when it comes to portion sizes, I would be happiest on a food plan with lots of vegetables, grains, and dairy, with a little meat. I really had to change my shopping and cooking habits to suit Atkins. However, as with many others who dropped Atkins after a few months, I have now gained back the weight I lost and would like to re-start.

The hardest part of re-starting for me has been making it through one full day this week sticking to induction. I still haven't done it. I am re-reading DANDR for motivation. Out of curiosity, I will be reading The Hamptons Diet by Fred Pescatore who is or was associated with the Atkins Center. I heard that there is a section of his book dealing with vegetarian recipes, which I am looking for.

I used to post on a forum called lowcarbluxury.com that is now defunct. Well, it seems to have turned into a full-time online magazine, but that's another issue. I am hoping to run into other "lost kids" from lowcarbluxury.com and meet some new supporters here! Good luck everyone!

Hi Bugsbunny!

Welcome to the forums.

I restarted about 5 times and this time i'm doing so much better now that I found this forum. I joined an exercise challenge to get my arse off the couch and the recipe section has been a lifesaver! Everyone here is lovely and VERY supportive. Good luck with restarting your induction. You might want to start a journal as it's a great way for people to support you and to keep a record of your progress, feel free to stop by mine anytime.

Tammy
