Default Is this the department of stupid questions? Cheesecake confusion...

First stupid quesion. Am I reading the NY Cheesecake recipe right? Is it really 2 and a half pounds of cream cheese?

And if so (second stupid question), is that really 6 x 250 gram packages of Philly cream cheese?

Third stupid question: So this is like $20 something to make?

5 packets.
I don't know how much it costs where you are, but I DO know that it is a very large cheesecake - not to mention yummy!
And BTW, individual slices freeze well. My only difficulty was hiding them from DH!

Thanks. I'm definately up for trying it. I even bought a new springform pan for it. I just didn't buy enough cheese.
