Talking Faced the Dreaded Scale this morning

Well, after a week of induction - six days actually since I started on Monday, I stepped on the scale this morning. I'm a weigh every day person, so staying off for six days has been hard, but didn't want to sabatage myself.

FIVE-POUND LOSS!!!! I really can't believe it. And I'm not hungry and don't really miss anything I "can't" have. I enjoy a drink (or two) two or three times a week, but don't even miss that.

I know not to expect that kind of weight loss during the second week of induction, but it sure is a motivator.

The interesting thing is that hubby and daughter are going to be starting Weight Watchers this week -- hubby has a kidney problem that prohibits LC and DD just doesn't think she could give up the carbs. So it will be interesting as we're all trying different roads to the same place.

Also, thank you so much for the information on this board. As this is my first time, it's all been completely new. The Atkins book is very well-written, but it's nice to come here to get the layman's explanation of some of the technical/chemical stuff, the great recipe ideas and common-sense tips.

On to week two!!

Bev

Well done, Bev, what a great start!

How about starting a journal here? I've found mine to be a great motivator. It's also a great way to make new friends who can be amazingly helpful with advice and encouragement.

Cheers!

Welcome Bev!

Nice start huh? I agree, start a journal. It's lots of fun when folks start visiting, and visit lots of others. There is a wealth of info and ideas and support in them.

Drop by mine any time!

Sam
