Default I'm wondering . . .

I've been low carbing (induction levels) since last October with no cheats but did increase my carbs the past two monthes with oatmeal on weightlifing days and extra veggie carbs (50-80). However last weekend I had a planned cheat -- chinese food (the rice was probably the worst) and a huge mocha coconut from starbucks. I gained 4 pounds in one day . This week though I have had great workouts and made really good gains BUT I have decreased my carbs to induction levels again in order. I have lost the four pounds plus another two -- so I'm wondering if my gains were due to my one day cheat or a culmination of all my hard work (in my 8th week of C2 of BFL)???? Any ideas? Thanx for your input -- Toni

Hmmm... honestly, I would say that the 4 lb gain would be due to the cheat. I am not sure what I gain on my weekend carbups but you would be surprised what carbs will add on. Plus, you would probably be retaining water. However, if u felt like you had a strong week weight-wise, you could have gained some muscle (doubtful though that it was 4 lbs of muscle)

By gains I meant in the weightroom with increased weights and more endurance --- ooops!! I guess what I'm asking is; did the cheat of mocha coconut and rice really help my workouts during the week? ---Toni

AH! As you can see, it was 6 am when I answered the first time! LOL It could have helped. As CKDers, that is the purpose of our carb-ups to help our exercise during the week. I know that my beginning of the week workouts are very much fueled and helped by the carbs I consumed on the weekend. When I get to Friday, I am tapped b/c of the lesser amount of carbs I consumed during the week.
