Default Howdy everyone!

This will be my first post on the board.

I started on Atkins on 1/4/04 and lost 5 pounds the first two weeks (bought a decent scale after the 1st week, so my starting weight of 215 is inaccurate, I may have lost more). My goal weight is 185.

I am finishing up the third week and have stalled, despite adding exercise this week (have even gained 1.5 back). Have read about the no-no low carb bars here (even though Atkins says they can be used in induction stage). I was having 1 per day for breakfast (I have never been a breakfast eater, ever).

I have almost given up diet Mountain Dew. Used to drink 4-7 cans per day + 80oz of water. I have been having one every other day. But will cut that out also as I have been phasing in Diet Rite. Please do not let Diet Rite be a no-no.

Anyway, am a little discouraged at the stall at this point considering I have been at or below 20 carbs with no exceptions for 3 weeks.

Welcome MiSki,
well the one thing that maybe causing the stall is that your body is just adjusting to your new way of eating. Also since you have begun to exercise that could be part of the weight gain, especially if you are sore, cause our muscles will retain fluid if our muscles are sore.

Now the important thing is not to get discouraged, also start a journal and post your eats, if others see what you are eating they maybe able to pick out something that is causing the stall, but please don't give up.

Joan

Don't worry about the scale so much as how are your clothes fitting you? I'm almost finished with the induction and will introduce exercise as well. I will anticipate a gain due to increased muscle mass. Keep up the good work you are doing great..... this won't be a quick fix but a new way of eating (NWOE).
