Here is the receipe here: I wanted to try it but w/o the strawberry sauce

2 ounce cream cheese (a 1 inch 'slice' out of an 8 ounce tub)
2 large eggs
1 tbs Splenda (I used a liquid sweetener)
1 tsp vanilla extract

Warm the cheese in a microwave until soft. Mix a little so it's smooth and then whisk in the eggs, vanilla and sweetener.

Cook on LOW for about 3 minutes. Mine puffed up with a hollow in the middle so it seemed natural to pop in a tsp sugar free strawberry preserves. I cooked it on low for 1 more minute.

Done! Served with light cream.

the only questionable thing is the vanilla and the atkins site doesn't have info on it. Everything else is allowed. I would say the mock danish is fine for induction though.

my take on this is no because Atkins has said that you should avoid soft cheeses during induction and cream cheese qualifies as a soft cheese

Cream cheese IS allowed on Atkins Induction, as quoted on the website:

Quote:
OTHER FOODS THAT ARE ACCEPTABLE DURING INDUCTION

Cheese
You can consume three to four ounces daily of the following full-fat, firm, soft and semisoft aged cheeses*, including:

cheddar
cow, sheep and goat cheese
cream cheese
Gouda
mozzarella
Roquefort and other blue cheeses
Swiss

*All cheeses have some carbohydrate content. The quantity you eat should be governed by that knowledge. The rule of thumb is to count 1 ounce of cheese as equivalent to 1 gram of carbohydrate. Note that cottage cheese, farmer’s cheese and other fresh cheeses are not permitted during Induction. No "diet" cheese, cheese spreads or whey cheeses are permitted. Individuals with known yeast symptoms, dairy allergy or cheese intolerance must avoid cheese. Imitation cheese products are not allowed, except for soy or rice cheese—but check the carbohydrate content.

I've made this with maple extract instead of vanilla - very yummy! Enjoy!!

I still beg to differ. In the book Diet Revolution on page 137 it says you can have per day during induction 4 ounces of any hard aged cheese, No cream cheese or cheese spreads.

Hi All. My first post. I came up with a recipe similar, when I saw cream cheese was <1 carb, and saw the cheesecake recipe on it.

1 egg
1 8oz cream cheese
1tsp vanilla
10 packets of splenda

I cooked it in a small glass dish in oven at 325 for about an hour. Made a very good guilt free cheesecake for me.

I tripled this for a family gathering, but I cooked it too quick, so the sides got too done. was able to salvage the center though, and served it with sweetened strawberries on the side for non LC'ers

I think the woe is continually being expanded because there is yet a slightly different version of it in Atkins for Life. You could argue that the 3 cups of salad aren't on induction either because the original book says 2 cups. Cream cheese IS allowed now. Good thing too, I eat it all the time.

Well shoot, you mean there might be carbs in vanilla?
Where could one find out if there is or not as well as any of the other extracts.

Oh for crying out loud on the danish question - I'd say if it works in your carb schedule and doesn't hinder your weight loss, don't worry. If it does, then get rid of it.
