Unhappy Ketosticks and Peeing

HI EVERYONE

SORRY FOR THE TITLE BUT I HAVE A QUESTION.

IF YOU DRINK 15-20 GLASSES OF WATER A DAY (YOU PEE A LOT!!)...LOL...NO NO IF YOU DO DRINK THAT AMOUNT, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOUR KETO READING WILL BE DILUTED.

WHAT I MEAN IS BECAUSE I DRINK A LOT OF WATER AND ABOUT 15 MINUTES AFTER I HAVE DRUNK IT I NEED TO PEE, NOW SURELY THAT WATER IS STILL..WELL...WATER?...RIGHT?

I AM ONLY SAYING THIS BECAUSE I WAS FOLLOWING THE PLAN PERFECTLY AND MY STICKS WERE VERY DARK PINK (WELL...BEFORE I CHEATED ANYWAY). I THEN INCREASED MY AMOUNT OF WATER FROM MAYBE 4 GLASSES A DAY TO 15-20...(YEA I WAS THIRSTY) AND EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN VERY LIGHT PINK?

ANY IDEAS

THANKS

LISA

Well, cheating will probably have knocked you out of ketosis, but it's true that the more water you drink, the more you dilute your ketones. You might want to try measuring first thing in the morning, when your urine is the most concentrated.

Ketosis breath is a sure sign but that too is relieved by drinking lots of water. Something that makes me certain I get enough water

Even if you're registering very light pink on the keto sticks, you're burning ketones. Registering dark colors can be an indication of dehydration. Thus, with the increase of your water intake, you have taken care of your dehydration which then will register as a lighter color on the keto sticks. Make sense?

HTH-
Nikki
