Question Are pickles allowed on induction?

I've been on induction for one week now (loving it by the way!) and my sodium levels have really dropped. I have a problem retaining sodium, so ordinarily (before starting Atkins) I try to eat a lot of pickles or other salty foods. Drinking so much water and being in ketosis (which is a diuretic state), my sodium has just plummeted. I was wondering if it's okay to eat pickles, or should I just add extra salt to my food?

By the way, the pickle jar (Claussen) says that each 1/2 pickle slice has less than one gram of carbs. Also, there is no sugar in the ingredients, but there is vinegar.

Thanks for your help!!
Bonnie

Pickles are fine, as long as no sugar is listed, and count the carbs. The vinegar is only a problem if you're yeast sensitive.

Loooove those pickles! Non-sweet pickles are just cucumbers and vinegar, both things you can have.

Yep, pickles are OK. I believe Mt. Olive now makes sugar-free sweet pickles, sweetened with Splenda. At least that's what I hear — I don't like sweet pickles.
