I think some of them have a few carbs. I read on another forum that some flavors, such as caramel, have about 8 carbs per bottle. I have no reference to cite for that, however.

If I'm not mistaken, all of the flavors of the DaVinci syrups list 0 carbs per serving, but if you carefully examine the labels of the different flavors, you will see that the serving size varies. Some flavors have a serving size of 2 Tbsps, while others have a serving size of only 1 Tbsp. I believe the manufacturer is doing that so they can list them all as 0 carbs. I expect the labels of the Torani syrups are much the same as those of the DaVinci syrups.

If I use 1 Tbsp of the syrups that give that amount as the serving size, I count it as 0, but if I use more than 1 Tbsp, I count .5 carbs per Tbsp.

I think the Torani, which I use, has liquid splenda in it, which is carb free.

The syrups have no carbs as they are made with liquid sucralose (brand name Splenda) as is Sweetzfree & Pure Liquid Sweetness. The powdered Splenda and Equal have carbs because of maltodextrin a filler which makes it pourable.

In DANDR, Atkins recommends using only 3pkts of alternative sweetener a day and counting each pkt as one carb. I think he is in favor of urging people to wean themselves from craving sweets in any form and to move toward natural food sources for health.

Figuring three portions of alt.sweetener as a daily maximum includes anything that has sweetener in it, as well as packets. That could be a real challenge to anyone doing diet sodas, eh?
