Wink Sports Tennis Energy Help

Hi All....

I'm on Atkins since the end of January. 156/142/132 --and I love the entire way of life--I'm in OWL right now...but I'm playing in a major tennis tournament in May. I have noticed that when I play..I need to catch my breath more in between some points. It's not a serious lack of energy but it is noticiable. I think this will increase during this tournament as I'll play quite often in 90 Louisiana weather.

My question is this...I'm planning to alter my diet somewhat a few days prior and during the tournament.....not drastic but just increase the carbs to help with my energy/breath.

Any suggestions on what to eat what not to eat--how to do this carefully if anyone's gone thru something similiar.

I'm pretty good at not cheating---and honestly afraid to do so...but I need to adapt just for these few days or I will have problems. Yes i'm on lots of supplements..and feel great otherwise..never better actually....just get a bit winded. (and not just at writing!)

Default Are you playing in the Northlake Women's tennis tournament?

Just wondering cause I am playing in it also. I am curious to what others are going to say to this question.

I play for Franco's. What about you?

I don't play tennis anymore but, to fuel my heavy resistance training, I mix berries (strawberries, blueberries) into my protein shakes 45 mins. before a workout. I don't know if this will help you or not. It certainly made a huge difference in my endurance.
