Unhappy Taco Bell

I read a thread earlier on this site about how many people were going to Taco Bell and getting the Taco salad....eating it without the shell & it sounded soooo good that I did that today for lunch.
I wish I had looked on their site for the Nutritional information first because that little trip to Taco Bell cost me 22 carbs !!! Yikes!!
I am still trying to stick to 20 -25 carbs a day so with lunch and breakfast, I'm already at limit.
Just a reminder to all....do your homework!

Most of the carbs are in the beans. I think someone mentioned that they don't put beans on the salad in Canada, so that may be the confusion.

I order mine with no beans and double meat then dump it out and mix it up. I don't use their salsa because I don't know what is in it. This works for me! The beans are a killer......... Orchid

I'm still too suspicious of the seasonings to try it anyway... I avoid any kind of mysterious "goo"....

Is there a thread here for eating Atkin's style in fast food places? When i have to eat out, I usually get a chicken breast from kfc, and eat it minus the skin. (I can't find any information on if that's okay or not) Subway's wraps are okay, but they are too expensive for what you get. (4.59) I know about burgers, etc. But is there anything okay from Taco Bell? Rallys? etc etc etc

Thanks

That would be a nice low carb meal, but not for people on induction. The salsa alone is 6 carbs.

You can go to Taco Bell's website and play around with the ingredients. If you have it without the shell, beans, or salsa, it's about 6 grams ECC, IIRC.

The beans are what pushes up the carb count. But hey, it was one time. Next time you'll know. Don't beat yourself up about it, 'kay?
