Default Hello everyone

Hello, I am new to this board. I have quit smoking for the last 6 months and between that and 2 foot surgeries and good old menopause I have become quite the little dough girl. lol I have put on about 35 lbs over a 2 years period . I am now energized to tackle this issue in my life. I am life time Weight Watchers but just don't seem to have the energy to record every morsel that enters my mouth. Many years ago I had done Dr. Atkins but carried it a tad too far. So now many years later and hopefully much wiser, I again want to do a low carb high protein diet. What I need is to learn more about and this is part of my process. I do not wish to bring my carbs down to the level of ketosis. I am happy with a slower more consistent weight loss. Everyday I learn alittle more about so I am looking forward to meeting you all and picking up tips on this new eating lifestyle I have chosen. My husband is also following this with me but he only needs to lose maybe 10 lbs. Diabetes is rampant in both sides of our families so this is also something we know we must be aware of as we get older.

So I begin a new learning process. I hope that you will help teach me the ins and outs. Have a great day everyone....

Sherry

Hi and welcome... I would recommend clicking the quick link on the right: Which low-carb plan is right for me?

Then seeing what looks good to you and buy a book. Go to the section on this forum for a few of the low carb plans and read. Read some journals and see what people are eating.

The key to this is finding a plan that you can incorporate in the rest of your life. So you can get to goal and feel good and not gain it back.

All the best to you.
