Default Jicama

Does anyone know how many carbs there are in a grapefruit
size jicama? I sliced it up last night, it was so crunchy and good
before I knew it I had eaten it all up!

So how much damage did I do??

Thanks VBrowne for the breakdown.

OMG!!!! Never again! I didn't have a clue it would be
so high in carbs. I thought jicama was in the ok vegie
section of NDR?

Maybe just a couple of slices (don't forget to subtract the fibre, so a slice may be okay) - I got the stats for you from fitday.com - just type in the name and it will give you variations.

Actually Suzie - took another look since you said it was acceptable - 1 slice is equal to less than 1 gram carb, so don't count it out - just have a bit.

cheers.

I eat it almost everyday, check out fitday, I useally have about 1/2 to 3/4 cup sliced up thin. I eat it raw, like an apple, or sauted in butter, very nice.

I love to add it to my salads along with the Avocado. Like the contrast of crunchy and creamy. Just use a few strips, about 1/4 cup.
