Question Is coffee OK or not? I get mix msgs.

I am not much of a coffee drinker. But now that I stopped drinking beer, I seem to crave a warm cup of coffee. I do enjoy a starbucks coffee a few times a week.

My carb counter tells me that 8 oz. of coffee has 2gms. of carbs. Can this be true?

Yep it is true... coffee/tea/decaf has carbs

each 8oz of coffee=1 carb
each 1oz of half and half or heavy cream = 1 carb
each packet of artificial sweetner = 1 carb

Re: decaf or regular.

Decaf is preferred but it seems a lot of people drink regular and still lose weight and don't have cravings.

Has no bearing on carbs and only has issues for some people... most people seem ok with it.

If you are losing weight and not having cravings...

I am not going to give up my coffee...I enjoy it in the mornings with my cream and splenda....Just add it to your carb intake...but this is just my opinion...You'll know if it bothers you or not...

I agree with everyone above. Coffee is a YMMV (your mileage may vary) kind of thing. Some people can have their Java and loose weight too, other's can't.
Coffee does have some carbs...after all....it is a bean.

I have lost 8lbs in 6 days. Not bad for drinking coffee every day. I have 2 cups with one packet of stevia and 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream.

Ummm!

I know it's not the healthiest but i drink about 30 oz of regular grind every day. I have lost an average of 10 lbs a month 12 on induction.

I just started adding decaf coffee in last night. I didn't know coffee had carbs in it though. That's good, too, because i'm still on induction and i'm finding it hard to get to 20g of carbs. I eat lots of protein and i eat my 2 cups of romaine lettuce, 4 oz of cheddar or mozzarella, and usually have a cup of spinach, too, but i can't seem to get above 13 or 14 carbs. I'll add a cup or two of decaf with heavy cream and splenda to reach the 20 g. Cool beans (literally lol)! thanks for the info

Katie
