Question A fitday question

Hi... I wasn't sure where to post my question but coul;d someone tell me what the NFS stands for in fitday when putting in food quantities? For example I had a choice of 1 cup NFS or 1 cup diced, etc.. it applied to lots of food choices and I couldn't find a glossery on fitday to explain what NFS was. Thanks in advance for the help!!

I've looked and cannot find any reference to it. I think it's probably No F-something Specified.

Has anyone ever seen other diet groups, i.e. low-fat, using Fitday as much as low carbers do? I wish they'd add more low-carb commercial products to their database. I'm sure that we are all adding alot of the same foods.

Dana

P.S. I just emailed them about this.

Okay, I think I figured it out...when it says NFS, no ingredients were specified to the right...

Ok, but wouldn't that be NIS? If it's NFS it would be:

No Food Specified and that doesn't sense. But, I think you are on the right track!

How about No Federal Standard?

Or National Food Standard?

I have no idea what the acronym stands for but, that is the commonality that I see.

I guess I've always looked at it wrong......I thought it was "NSF", which I thought to be "Not sure fat" as in how much fat! DUH! Now I'm not sure what it means.

How about "No Form Specified"? That would seem appropriate.

Default Fitday's Response to my email

Hi Dana,

Thanks for the support! We're really glad to hear that you and your community are finding FitDay useful. That's a great suggestion, and is actually something we're actively working on. Expanding our database and incorporating more up-to-date brand named foods is high on our priorities. So stay tuned, we're working on it ;-)!

Thanks again for the suggestion! We're constantly working to improve FitDay, so let us know if you or anyone else in your community have any other suggestions. And again, we really appreciate your support.

Thanks,

FitDay Support

Subject: Adding foods to your database

How do you all decide which foods to add to the database? I am a Low Carber and MANY MANY of us use your site and your PC software. It would be so helpful if you all would add some of the commercial brand Low carb foods to your database, such as Atkins products, CarbSolutions, CarbOptions, TGIFridays Atkins Approved meals. If you need any help with this, I know 1000s of willing particpants. http://forum.lowcarber.org/

Thanks for your great products!

Dana Fleming
