Default Tips for upping your fat

Many of us are attempting to increase our fat and calories without upping our carbs to improve our weightloss results. We are running around asking eachother what we can eat to do this.

Here are some tips of mine....

Few tips for anyone on increasing fat:
1. like afwife says, fry, fry, fry...olive oil is the best unless it's something that you want deepfried like chicken or fish.
2. butter......on the high fat it's harder to get those carbs in so eat things like broccili and cauliflower and use 3 or more tbs of butter on it YUM!!
3. dressing on salad.....I used to use ranch and italian...now I've moved over to blue cheese and oil-n-vinegar
4. steaks, porkchops.....suck on that fat and gristle ( I know it sounds nasty but it really does taste good and a lot of the vitamins you need are in those things)

I know there are more ways than this to up that fat and I'm hoping people will respond with the tricks they have incorporated to increase their fat and calorie intake without increasing the carbs by more than a negligable amount.

Avocado's are great for upping your fat and if your not doing Induction any more Macadamia nuts are high in fat too.

Don't forget that Mayo, you can use that in your Deviled eggs and bring that Fat count right up.

Enjoy! Fat is your Friend.

I work mayo & avacado into at least 2 meals a day, I also mix flaxseed oil in cottage cheese or guacamole to increase fat. I don't use the shakes often, but when I do, I add a few tbsps. of flaxseed to that. Been thinking of frying my eggs in coconut oil, anyone else do this?

i somedays take my meat, chicken or pork or even beef and use a 1/2 cup of oil and let it sit with onion and garlic salt with a tbsp of hot peppers for a couple of hrs... it draws a lot of oil in to the meat and then i cook it in more oil when i fry it ...this really ups my fat intake i think...

This thread makes me laugh...

Imagine seeing an article in a magazine "How to squeeze more fat into your diet"

Before November 2003 I would have thought anyone writing an article like this had to be out of their minds for writing it.

Don't forget heavy cream.

- I put some in a small galss with an ice cube and add sugar free flavored syrup. It is like slowly sipping melted ice cream.

Heavy cream with flavored syrup....that's a good one "strictgirl". I've had the diet rootbeer with whipping cream but never thought to put a flavored syrup in it. Yum.....gotta try it.

This afternoon I mixed 1/2 cup of heavy cream, one packet Splenda and a dash of vanilla. Delicious. It tastes like a rich vanilla milkshake!! This is definitely a keeper.

Last night before I went to bed, I decided I needed more fat for the day so I downed a teaspoonful of olive oil....blech! I chased it with a couple of teaspoons of butter, so that made my taste buds happier. :-)

Anyone not low-carbing would definitely find us all insane!! LOL

Thanks, LCanita. I think that's a good idea.......

Actually, I love cream in my diet soda. Just wished I'd thought of that earlier in the evening!
