Default Pale face?

Its been 10 weeks since I started the lc'ing, and I've been on induction the whole way so far (planning on moving to OWL when I hit 150, and see where it brings me), but the last couple of weeks, my relatives has been saying that my face is looking a bit pale. Is this something that happens regularly on this diet, and is there something I can do to prevent it?

I'm not too concerned about it (I didn't even notice it, although my eyes are fixated on the scale and my gut :P) but just wondering if any of you has experienced this, or has any input about this. Thanks!

HI gee I 'm not an expert, I'm sure one will show up, but here is what I think. Being that you are one pound from Goal, you should not still be doing Induction, that is not how the plan is laid out, you really need to refer to the stages in the book and move on, cause once you lose that pound, you should be on Maintenace, not OWL.

There is many reasons why, Atkins has set those stages, so it's best to follow them. So perhaps you need some more foods in you, particularly different veggies that are not on induction.
Have you been taking Vitaman pills? Like a good Multi? That also can be the cause?

Why not have a look in the maintenance thread you can get there from the main page. There is some good posts about moviong on in the stages.

Good Luck, Kathy

Hi Kathy, actually my set goal has changed a bit :P from my body fat % and my bmi index, I see that I should still be a little bit lower... Anyways, I think I will move to OWL after the end of this week. I have been taking a good multivitamin, and I have been eating foods rich in them, like avacados and sunflower seeds (even though I'm supposed to have them in phase 2).

Thanks for the maintenance thread, I'm heading there right now to read up a bit :P

I know this is just slapping a band-aid on it, but I have tried many bronzing powders and the best (and cheapest!) is the Wet n' Wild bronzer # 701 I think (the darker colour, not the orangy-brown one)
It is very natural looking for a good glow.

Just off the top of my head I'd ask you to check your iron levels.

Do you use fitday? If so check out the reports section on the left hand side of the page and then check out the section that says nutrition. It will let you know how your vitamin and mineral intake looks.

Eventhough Atkins recommends no additional iron I personally do not receive enough iron in my diet, so I supplement with iron every other day.

Thanks ImHere! I reached my goal today!!! Anyways, I should use Fitday, I started using it when I first went on Atkins, but stopped after the first week :P From what I eat though, I'm sure I have enough iron, but I guess I should check cause you never know. I am also scheduling a checkup with my doctor soon to make sure I'm still okay (so far, I know my blood pressure went from 132 to 116, which I am very happy about).

sunshine80, funny suggestion based on your nickname I don't think I'll pursue that after watching that episode of Friends with Ross getting overly dark :P
