ok...ok... it is my t.o.m. and i am bloated, crampy, achey and craving chocolate.... so i found the sugar free hershey's and read the back of the package wrong.... i read the cholesterol (10) for the carbohydrates (24).... dayum! i blew my whole day of carbs on just the chocolate. i also did not even eat enough yesterday. i just felt so crummy i didn't feel like it. so i ate 33 carbs and only 933 calories. i don't know the damage it has done... i won't look until after the t.o.m. right now i feel like a whale.
is there any particular piece of advice for damage control? do i just get back on the wagon? be strict about induction? i drink at least 3 liters of water a day. but i am so bloated i don't feel like i can hold much more water....arghh.... ok i am going for a walk on the beach.

I don't think that 33 carbs is going to hurt you. Some people eat 30 a day for weight loss. It's when you go way high that you build up the glycogen stores in the body, thus causing you to need to LC for two days before you can go into ketosis again (the two days it takes to empty glycogen stores, when you aren't "refilling" them with too many carbs). So, I'm sure you are fine.....damage control? well, there really isn't any for taking in way too many carbs (which I don't think you did). But, getting a big chunk of exercise in can't hurt anything

Default Probably not much at all

You said yesterday you ate 33 carbs and 900 cals? So first off, you're starving, and there's a reasonably higher-than-normal proportion of carbs to protein/fat which would make me a little shaky, and then you hit all the fun hormonal stuff, and you snarf a chocolate bar which is still probably only 280 cals and a load of fat. And I know calories aren't the focus here, but I also know, starving is starving.

Sigh. Sounds like it's time to start the day over. Not necessarily with the carb count, but at least with the attitude and self-abnegation. Eat a steak. With butter.

It takes 3400 cals to gain a pound of fat.

Walks on the beach are the best attitude resetter I've ever found. Something about waves and tide remind me that no matter what disaster is facing me, the world's going to keep going on and the sun will come up again.

Whole 'nother train about what it means when my normally-literate mind reads something deliberately wrong* like missing chol. for carbs, and I'd be inclined to think maybe I needed the choc. hit. It's related to dopamine; could be a brain chemistry thing too. Not that I get to make a way of life out of it, but I also have to acknowledge that sometimes my body has a deeper wisdom.

*Most obviously, misreading flight# for gate the last time I flew, and missing the plane because I was waiting at the wrong gate, and I didn't want to be going there in the first place...

Default CHOCKLATE BAR

When figuring the carbs in the chocklate bar takes the total carbs and subtract the manitol, or whatever sugar alcohol that they used, and that will be the net carbs that you have to count..

I eat carbolite bars, and atkins endulge bars...carbolite as 0 sugar carbs and endulge has I think 2 net carbs....

Just BE CAREFEL..iF you have a sugar addiction then don't buy more than one at a time...If I have them in the cabinets...I will eat them until tey are gone....and that will stall any diet...so, you really didn't have a bad carb day, that day you ate the Hershey's....

I have ate them every once in a while throughout my weight loss...especially when you are fixing to binge on something else...So, Hope this helps...

Trisha
