Default Aspartame = Diarrhea?

I'm wondering if anyone has noticed problems with diarrhea when they have aspartame. I have problems with diarrhea sometimes and it seems to coincide with when I am drinking a lot of diet soda (mostly things with aspartame, though some splenda sweetened drinks mixed in).

To satisfy myself that it's actually the aspartame causing a problem I'm going to do a little study on myself. I was off soda for the past 5 days, then had some today and noticed a problem. I'm going to refrain from drinking any soda for the next week and see if there are any more problems. Then I'm going to drink a soda made with splenda and see how things go. If things are still good, I may try one more soda made with aspartame to confirm my suspicions. Hopefully I'll figure something out.

I had the problem with diet coke if I had more than 2 or 3 in a short time. One by itself wasn't a problem, but multiple were.

None of the splenda flavored diet sodas gave me this problem, no matter how many I drank.
