Default Help!! My sugar cravings are out of control!!!!!

HI! I have just finished the second week of my induction and it went really well re: no more carb cravings (I was really surprised - I looooved the carbs) and I lost 6 pounds. I am keeping myself on induction still for a while until I feel more in control!!

I am having HUGE sugar cravings....chocolate, candies....something! Maybe it is because I am surrounded by it with all the Halloween candies around. I never really had much of a sweet tooth....but now that the carbs are out of my diet I am reallllllly wanting sweets!

Could any of you give me some suggestions regarding this? I have heard some mention of a supplement that can be taken to help with sugar cravings...anyone know much about that? I am taking a multi-vitamin.

Any suggestions would be awesome.....I really want to stay on this path to weight loss and feel more in control of those damn cravings!!!

Sue

Hi there! Sorry that you are battling those cravings. One thing that I take and that a lot of people say really works for their cravings is L-Glutamine. I take one capsule (500mg) 3 times a day. I have absolutely no cravings for sweets. I've taken if for quite some time (about 5 years)... even before LCing so I can't say for sure that it is totally responsible for my lack of cravings but I have read here on the forum that others got rid of their cravings using it.

Otherwise there are some recipes in the recipe section that address sweets and treats that might do the trick... check it out here

Good luck to you and keep up the good work!

Hi Sue. The L-glutamine will work, but only if your cravings are really physical. If they're emotional, you'll have to distract yourself. If you're out for a walk, reading, or otherwise busy, are the cravings still there? Or is it just because there's candy in the house? I admit, if there was candy in my kitchen, I wouldn't be able to get my mind off of it.
