Default back from vacation

I got back from my vacation late SUnday, and have been kind of recuperating since then. I did pretty well eating on the trip. No sugar, which is really good, even though I don't want to give myself credit for that. I had two planned cheat days, even if they weren't planned too much in advance. We stopped at a casino in Michigan, and ate supper there, at the buffet, My first trip I really stuck to low carb, but they had really good mashed potatoes, and croissants. I allowed myself some potatoes and one half of a croissant. I didn't finish either. I coulnd't eat either very fast, and it was an amazing experience to eat some of these foods and not feel the old cravings. The next day I had a bit of a reaction to the wheat in the croissant.

I am tired and could use some support. It was hard to come back and start posting again.

I am having a hard time feeling positive about the experience. I did a lot of driving, like over 2200 miles in 10 days, and camping out and sleeping on the ground, and setting up camp and packing the car, and building fires and such.

I did lose some fat around my hips and ribs. I could start feeling the bones at the top of my shoulder. I don't know why I am feeling so down. Part of it could be the usual post vacation let down. and now that I am home I can relax and feel how tired I am as I did a lot in the past ten days, and I did a lot more than I usually do. I was going over 10 hours a day, I usually can't do more than 6 or 7 on a regular basis.

So, here I am, back and ready to keep posting and working on this WOL.

I hope to get a membership to the Y and start swimming on a regular basis.

Rena

Hi Rena, good job on managing your eating while on a trip. That is hard to do, so pat yourself on the back. And you lost some fat! YAY!

If you stop and think about all of the things you did on your trip that were different than your normal routine, you'll probably have a long list! All your little muscles in there are probably complaining, LOL. It will take your body a few days to feel normal again. I know when I'm gone for just a few days, it wears me out - let alone 10 days, 2200 miles of driving and camping out!!!

Good luck with your swimming and your weight loss.

I feel a bit better today after a long sleep in my own bed, and a couple of days without driving.
And a bit more distance and I can see that I did really well sticking to this WOE on my trip., and I could really see the difference in my stamina and flexibility with the weight loss.
At one point I even got the feeling that I will be able to stick to this, and lose more weight, and be able to get out and camp more again, and spend more time outdoors, which is something that I really love to do.
