Default Hi ! Me too !

Hi,
I am 63, and have about 60lbs to lose. I'm a MAD animal lover, ANY kind !
I would like to keep in touch with you. It would be nice to help each other.
I live in rural Victoria, Australia, on 40 acres where I have horses, dogs and cats.
I have a pregnant Peruvian Paso mare (Christy) a Peruvian Paso stallion named Bronceiarga (NOT his baby !) Callede Bronte for short.
a Standardbred mare in foal to my stallion, a Q/H x Arab mare in foal to my stallion. An Australian Stockhorse filly (too young yet !) 2 part-bred Paso geldings (Happy & Toby) and 2 retired TB geldings.
The dogs are: A Rottweiler named Axel, a Pomeranian x Jack Russell named Rosie, Butch is a Maltese Terrier X ???? Mickey is a Maltese Terrier X Shi-Tzu,
Susie is a slightly disabled Staffy Bull Terrier.
The cats: Bdub is a Black and white Moggy, Rastus is a grey tabby moggy (suspect he's 1/2 Burmese, has gorgeous GREEN eyes) Red Cat is a TINY1/2 Siamese red tabby. She is about 6 yo and looks around 4 months old.
Then we have Silly Cat. He's a Lilac Burmese, called silly as he is a silver colour and it was short for silver. He DOES live up to his name though !

Now to me ! I have been on the Atkins diet for over 2 weeks. I have lost some, (maybe 3 kg) but it looks like it will be a lot slower than when I was younger ! But, I figure it took me a few years to put it on, so I have given myself a year to lose it. I DO feel better,. I realised a while back that carbs and I don't go together very well.
I have 3 sons who live in the suburbs of Melbourne, so I don't see them often. I have 2 grand daughters, but see only one of them. My youngest son-- 26 going on 6 told me at 17 that he and his then girlfriend were going to have a baby if they were still together in 6 months. She was pregnant 3 months later. You can imagine how long the relationship lasted and my son won't have anything to do with his ex girlfriend and so doesn't see his daughter. It's very sad, as his problems with her mother are NOT his daughter's concern
That's about it for now !
Hope we can help each other !
Lee

Hi and welcome aboard lees

Best of luck to you on this journey.

Come by here often and read all the wonderful stories of success, it will serve to inspire you for sure.

A journal is good to have so that friends can drop by and offer you words of advice and support as we all need from time to time, and in no time at all you will be inspiring and supporting others.

Sounds like you have quite a menagerie going there, I love horses but alas they never did take a hankering to having me on their backs, even before I was overweight, guess some of us are just meant to love em from afar, hehe.

*Nothing tastes as sweet as success*
