I got a good laugh just imagining the size of your kitchen along with your other appliances.

Maureen, I was the wondering the same thing re: Stacy's crockpot..
and feel the same way about toilets and exercise maybe we're twins seperated at birth???

Sheila, Truthfully, My goal is to walk 2 miles five days, don't always do it though... I am in the process of getting a CD put together of favorite songs that are a good tempo to walk to. I usually play the radio and find I walk faster and with less effort if a song I like is on as opposed to ads or slow songs. Maybe I can brain wash myself into thinking of my walking time as my SPECIAL Time?!? I did buy myself a wonderful pair of cuddle duds long underwear at Sam's to wear in the cold. I try to tell myself that I NEED my 30 minutes of fresh air and sun on my head...

Back at work and already playing but I had to post...

Well I wt in today and am really excited as I am ever so close to onerland, just a breath away in fact. My last wt in was just before Xmas and close to TOM and I was up 1.5 #'s from the week before. Well I am really happy to say that I have lost that and then some I am down to 200 now. My being careful over the holidays paid off and I am really thrilled. Actually jumping up and down (at the office where I wt in and everyone was really pleased for me, felt good). I was looking for an article that came by email from the Atkins sight on positivie thinking and goal setting to pass on but I can't find it on the site and will have to check my email at home. It was a very good article. I will forward it later when I am back at home.

Our weather here in lower Fraser Valley of British Columbia is in an artic Freeze, we have wind chill of -20 c this morning... considering our normal temp is around 6-9 c that is pretty darn cold. We have frozen snow on the ground and a predictated snow storm tomorrow followed by a freezing rain storm. Guess we are in for a one heck of a week.

well I best go off and work . talk to you all tonight.

Well, I lost 3 lbs, even though I had an awful day on Saturday. I have alot of excuses, like it was my TOM, I work graveyards and was soo tired, I had a migraine, my sitter doesn't come on Saturdays, etc, etc.....

I can see that Saturdays are going to be the hardest for me to keep on track.

My girls and I had so much fun in the snow! It doesn't usually last that long around here, if we get any snow at all. It's nice for a change, but I wouldn't want it all winter long. That's why we moved here.

Hi Guys! (Or Gals if we want to be a bit more accurate)
I am down 1.5 pounds in the past few days! I'm excited. I'm finnally feeling a bit better from all those carbs I ate over the holidays.
The weather is insane here. It's snowing and icing; I hate it! And it's really really cold. I mean I know it's not like Canada, but I freeze in the summer. lol
I've had a really nasty headache this weekend that has carried over to Monday. I've been making exception with what I eat. I was trying to avoid processed foods (like bacon, pepperoni, deli meat, ect..), but with this head making me dizzy I've made an exception.
Exercise, Me? Yes, I do exercise. Should be pretty regularly again too, now that the holidays are over. I do an intense 20 minutes BFL style cardio 3 x a week. I also life weights 3 x a week, ulternating upper and lower body. When I stick to my plan, I have so much more energy even though I'm getting up earlier then if I wasn't exercising.
Congratulations, Terry!
Angie, keep up the good work with quitting smoking!
Jessie: *hugs*
Newbies, welcome to the challenge!
Heather, I'm glad you're here. Don't get down on yourself. You can take off those holiday pounds. Just stick with it.
Annie, I hopeeverything works out with your direct deposit.
Everyone, Just stick with it, if you lost, gained, or stayed the same this week. Just take one day at a time and stay on plan; there is alway next Monday. And rememer (I know this is silly, but humor me): Drink your water!

Hi Everyone,
I'm down two pounds so far.....so I'm at 220. Its hard to get into the swing of things again.....I do love my chocolate! Doing induction is gonna be a challenge...but then anything worthwhile is. Lets keep this group effort going...its contagious.

Welcome, Nikki! You will find many friends here who have been in your shoes. We are here to lift each other up.

Hi ladies. I will be honest here. I have gained at least 6 pounds. I feel horrible. My pants, which were so loose I almost was ready for a 14, are now snug. Six doesn't sound like a lot, but my body is reacting to the carbs I freaked out on the past week. I would give in if not for all of you.

I will not give up.

Annie you will get back on tract and be slopping in those pants again. You have come far! But I agree it is hard to get past the cravings again. Although I did manage to keep fairly low carb... I found that my potential to binge is still there. Thank God all the little extra's I made up just for me and my lc friends is all gone, mostly thanks to me because all those just 1-2 carb snacks add up when you have 10 of them . It's still there in me and I still need to control the binge monster. Yesterday I just drank water or a sugar free italian soda when ever I "wanted something".

We will get past the binge carb monster . We will win the war lol.
take care all you loosers out there.

How true! You hit the nail on the head. Thanks for pulling me up!

Everybody--Don't forget to cut and paste the week 2 chart into your reply. Add your weight next to your name.

You know that feeling you get when you fear the worst, get on the scale, and it is better than expected? ME NEITHER! The feeling I’ve been experiencing is disappointment after staying on plan and gaining weight. I’d been okay with no loss, but to gain weight with no cheating just stresses me. I’ve read enough posts to know that this program works. I’ve also read enough posts to realize that you all can’t help me without more specifics such as a detailed menu of my food intake. Since January 1, 2004, I’ve kept a food journal, and I will take a look at it myself. If I can't figure it out, I'll post some daily intakes and get some input. Anyway, sorry to be grim....I just needed to express a little sadness and frustration. My DH is awesome, listened to me, and offered encouragement. Thanks to him and you all, I'm sure the scale will head the other direction soon. I received an e-mail from a buddy today noting how much we all have to thankful for, and I am promising myself right now not to let the scale number control how I feel. THANKS! Teresa

Teresa, don't let it get you down. About every 2 months my scale will not budge at all. I will be at one solid number every morning and then it just happens and the numbers on the scale continue down until it happens again.
Shiela: I used to walk at least 5 nights a week. Haven't done that since the middle of November. I need to get out there and do it. Also I want to buy a nice entertainment center for my TV. This christmas I got a DVD player and my daughter got an X box so things are looking pretty messy on our small TV stand. So that is what I am doing with my cigarette money.
Annie and the rest of you struggling you will get back on track. Just start off each morning on this WOE and see where the days ends up.
I feel so encourage by all of you. It is nice that this is a place where you can share happy moments as well a sad/frustrating moments. That is what makes us all come back here month after month. Have a good week
angie

Teresa do you keep your food diary on fitday. That is a good place to calculate your intake for sure and watch the calories and make sure you have enough fat content. Just a thought.
