What I got from reading this thread and then following up on some of the references:
1. Look for full-fat whole-milk yogurt, NOT "lowfat" or "nonfat".
2. Plain, unflavored yogurt is OK, not any of the flavored varieties. (If you want flavoring, you can add it yourself in the form of a small amount of fruit or SF syrup)
3. Active cultures will be listed somewhere on the container. At minimum there should be Lactobacillus Acidopholus and Lactobacillus Bifidus listed as active cultures. If more are there, better for you.
It seems to be the concensus that if all three of these conditions are met, one can enjoy as much as one cup per day, and you only need add 4 grams ECC to your daily intake.
Works for me.
