I agree that cutting bread, pasta, potatoes, rice (even if it's only the "white" kinds) is definately a step in the right direction for some folks. If they are consuming higher levels of carbs(per Atkins recommendations) it's a matter of adjusting the protein/fat to appropriate levels, is it not? Unfortunately, many people do not educate themselves on what happens when they put certain foods into their bodies and become very dissappointed when they don't get the desired results. Are we not all seeking the (elusive, for many) "magic" formula that works the best for each of us, not just for now, but for a lifetime?

See, THAT is what I mean. They don't understand what happens when they put sugar/excess carbs in their bodies. They are yo-yo-ing, eating eggs and bacon for breakfast...and when they walk into class and someone says "hey i brought donuts for everyone" they eat a few, then lament about it, then go eat pizza for lunch, then say "I'm starting my diet tomorrow" all while drinking either a Coke or sweet tea. Then, they wonder why they aren't losing. That's what the guy in class says "I try, but I just can't get under 200 lbs".
