Exclamation Wol

This is a WOL. The alternative is the land of the dead. I don't want to be there anymore.

Restaurant carbs don't usually pass this test unless is a special night out, same with quickly prepared meals, unfresh baking, or things that are not my absolute favorite.

1. If it is REALLY special eat some, but add a low carb with it as well. Then be really good for the next few days.

2. Pay attention to when I'm full.

3. Drink a glass of water before eating a treat food.

4. In general now my husband and I are really strict on the weekdays. If we have something special we will have it on the weekends and plan in advance for it (ie eat somewhere or make something special)

I am amazed at this change of life. I didn't even find adding the carbs back to hard. I had a beer on holidays a few weeks ago and I felt so full and bloated that I didn't want another one. Same with when I've tried pasta.

Just having the control to refuse things, but know you're not going to be starving (like no calorie plans) makes me feel confident I can maintain this WOE. I can eat, I just have to control what!

This has changed my life!!

Thank you for some really good advice! I just love hearing from people who have made it to the finish line and haven't looked back!

"...after graciously accepting them, to quietly deposit those pieces on somebody else's plate"

I've done that four times in the months I've been low carbing. Cake simply does not interest me any more. I do eat a few more carby things once in a while, I must be close to goal because I'm losing very slowly. A pound month.

However, I love eating this way, I don't crave carbs, I have so much energy, and my skin looks great. There's no reason NOT to make this a WOL!

I plan on putting some carbs back on the menu but for the most part this is a new WOL for me. I don't find it difficult at all to stay LC so there's no reason to go back to my old habits.
