45 min walk to the cemetary - I find its a good walk - I break a sweat, much of it is up a slight grade so walking back is mostly downward, and I also found that walking on the "other" side of the street costs you 10 min in waiting for traffic signals and using the crosswalks. This time I didn't go into the cemetary, stayed on the easier side and had few crosswalks to deal with. I went this AM - supposed to rain this afternoon. Passing cafes - one I will avoid by the odd smells coming out of it - yesterday sharp vinegar and fried food, today burnt toast... and one that looks like THE place to go for breakfast!

Not my pic:

Took a lovely walk around the big country road block here in TN - there was a break in the rain and I went for it. Using friends faster Mac and don't know how to size photos yet...they're BIG!
Big branch down from the ice storm several weeks ago...
[IMG][/IMG]
Cows at the crossroads corner were very curious but when I approached they ran away..
[IMG][/IMG]
raindrops still on branches from the very recent rain...
[IMG][/IMG]
one of the piles of branches in the yard from the ice storm...
[IMG][/IMG]
A wren house! Wrens are building their nest inside...
[IMG][/IMG]

35 min today and I made my goal for the week.

Sun 30 min walk around the neighborhood - GA
Mon 25 min walk - neighborhood
Tue 60 min walk to and in cemetary
Wed 45 min walk to cemetary
Thu 10 min walk - around the block - raining so it was short
Fri 10 min walk out with the dog - TN
Sat 35 min walk country roads - TN

total: 2 hrs 35 min

Well I got two walks in today. This AM I did a lovely walk around the country block in TN - 35 min.
Here is a little stream by the roadside...
[IMG][/IMG]
A birds nest along a fence line...
[IMG][/IMG]
Mountains in the distance...
[IMG][/IMG]
Curious cows at the corner again...
[IMG][/IMG]
Hey! Where ya goin'? I went back to the fence and took another photo
[IMG][/IMG]

When my friend and I got back to Atlanta we took a walk this evening - 45 min. So I have a good jump on my week's exercise.

total today: 1 hr 20 min woo hoo~

This AM my friend and I took our cars into the garage - it's first come first serve so we left them there and walked 30 min (we took the scenic route) to a little cafe for breakfast - and when the garage called we walked another 20 back (sun was hotter so we did a phone app to find the fastest way back to the garage.)
I am loving all the walking. My friend said she hasn't walked this much in years... total today 50 min.

Took a walk around the neighborhood tonight - 45 min.
As you can see, I've gone from not knowing how to size pics - very large, to the med size to the smallest and I think I like med size best but can crop them a bit so they are smaller... I wanted the viewer to see exactly what I see but they do need to be a little smaller.
Cherry trees in bloom at the the entrance to the park - cannons in attendance...
[IMG][/IMG]
Beautiful big sprays of forsythia...
[IMG][/IMG]
This cheery hyacinth has the entire yard to itself, all by it's onesies in the corner...
[IMG][/IMG]
These poor spindly little hyacinths are saying BULB FOOD PLEASE!!! They are making their best effort to look like their neighbor in the above pic..
[IMG][/IMG]
This old house is a fixer upper - someone has taken it on. It has that haunted house vibe to it...

Walked 25 min in the drizzle today.
So here are my rainy day pics:

Rain on the violets - love them. The woods was full of them where I grew up...
[IMG][/IMG]
The rain is knocking down the star magnolia petals all over the daffodils - grotto/fountain? in the park...
[IMG][/IMG]
This robin was busy getting his dinner when I took a bunch of pix and he finally looked at me like he was waiting for his close up...
[IMG][/IMG]
I pass this Orthodox church daily - I believe somewhere Sean Connery is grumbling about his photo on the front of a church - at least that's what my best friend thinks...
[IMG][/IMG]
This is the first tulip I've seen here...so pretty and delicate...

Spring Equinox! My friend and I went for a walk around the neighborhood this evening - it was sprinkling at first but stopped. We then wandered all around her new house and into the vacant lot that has been turned into a community garden behind it...All my pix were by her house or in that vacant lot today...40 min.

In a pile of wood/brush there was this funky looking fungus growing...
[IMG][/IMG]
Here is some growing on a log that looks like ruffles on a sleeve...
[IMG][/IMG]
This tree root next to the vacant lot is the biggest and longest I've ever seen hugging the house...
[IMG][/IMG]
We saw this kitty down in the way between the houses - it jumped into the window and looked at us...
[IMG][/IMG]
And this is Weezy...she visits all the neighbors here - wanting to come in...we give her food because she's such a little thing and treats - we have to be fast getting in the door though...

Took a short walk this evening - my friend saw me on her way home from work and picked me up so it was only 15 min tonight.
This cheery bunch of Johnny Jump-ups is a new planting at the park...
[IMG][/IMG]
This dog was very happy to be out jogging with his human...(blurry pic...)
[IMG][/IMG]
I was noticing just how steep some of the steps up to the yards and mailboxes are - the poor postman or woman must be in top athletic shape to be doing those every day! There are a lot like this...
[IMG][/IMG]
This kitty is at the top of the steps often...I said "Hi Kitty!" and he came down to greet me...
[IMG][/IMG]
I had a pretty pic of a fuschia pink tree in bloom but it was very blurry...so I put in this pic from the rainy day - star magnolias dropping petals in the rain...

Went for an evening walk with my friend - 45 min down into the park.
Here is a tree that looks like a very large oblong green Faberge egg in shape...
[IMG][/IMG]
We walked down into the park and there was an event happening with a live 3 pc band on the balcony of this building...
[IMG][/IMG]
This is an owl - my friend and I and another lady walking by saw a big bird land in a tree - we were trying to figure out what it was as it flew but it was clear once it landed. Very cool! (I zoomed it so not a great pic)
[IMG][/IMG]
Pretty flowering plum (?) lit by the walkway light as it was getting dark...
[IMG][/IMG]
A very zoomed and filtered shot of Venus in the sky framed by treetops...

Walked an hour and 10 min yesterday - my photos got lost in the etherland and didn't show up til this AM...some I had to resend.
Cherry blossoms!
[IMG][/IMG]
The Confederate Soldiers section of the cemetary...
[IMG][/IMG]
This gets me everytime...the monument for the Unknown Confederate Dead...
[IMG][/IMG]
The dogwoods are blooming now...
[IMG][/IMG]
Gorgeous showy daffodils with ruffly pinky centers...
[IMG][/IMG]
I'm going to quit choosing the small pics...too small. Med ones seem too big but oh well...

45 min dancing to Pandora Dance Station...and of course You Tube: The Backstreet Boys Larger Than Life ....one of my favorite dance songs! It cures all my ills....
I've been walking a lot but not moving my body so tonight was a little stiff - gotta loosen it UP.

45 min walk this evening almost to the cemetary and back - windy and kind of cold out. Loved the wind though.
I don't know what this bush is but the little flowers look like confetti pompoms...**in an earlier photo (CA) I am calling this witch hazel. Looked it up: it is!
[IMG][/IMG]
Pretty creeping phlox along the sidewalk wall...
[IMG][/IMG]
Starflowers reaching up to be noticed in a bed of ivy...
[IMG][/IMG]
Red/pink striped tulips in someone's front bed...
[IMG][/IMG]
View over the freeway as I was headed back - sunset...
[IMG][/IMG]
