I'm smiling, Tami... thinking isn't it amazing what we refer as "binges" now! We need to start a Confessions thread... admitting all the things we USED to do. One thing that started me on this woe in the first place was after I unconsciously polished off an ENTIRE bag of candy corn at my computer... and reaching into the bag and finding it empty. Big wake-up call. And, although my head buzzed after eating that whole bag, it was no more than the buzz I got from that single slice of pumpkin pie! I sort of like it this way!

I had a nasty experience on Sunday when I took my kids out for pizza and had what I thought was a fair meal choice - only problem was I ate the pita with my salad plate - huge mistake. I felt sooooooooooooooo sick when I got home. It was two hours before it started to go away.

Carol,

Yep, I'm happy that my "binges" are just too much of the Atkin's legal foods. I've had a few (3) planned treat meals (It's not a cheat if it's planned!) that included real dessert, but I was in control. I think that's what feels so good about this program. I just plain feel in control. I hate, HATE, that feeling that I used to get that my body had taken over my own good sense. Like when I used to consume nearly a full box of donuts before getting home. (Then I'd have to throw away the rest so the kids wouldn't know I'd had more than my fair share. Sick, huh?) By the way, I think there IS a confessions thread around here somewhere!

Tami

I'm with Tami on this one. I recently had what I call a "bad day." I didn't have anything illegal, but I had twice as much food in one day as I normally do. Well, it may have been avocados, sour cream, chicken, and veggies, etc. but it felt like I had just eaten an entire cake washed down with a quart of soda. I couldn't sleep that night, because my stomach hurt so badly that I couldn't lie down.

I was glad I did it though, because it was the first (and hopefully last) time I got to see the side effects of overeating on this WOL. I've been feeling good, but I needed to see for myself that going back to my old habits would have some pretty bad consequences. I won't say Never Again, but I'll say, Most Likely Not Very Often Again!
