Deli meats: Try to find Boar's Head brand. In northern CA, you can find it in upscale markets or stores that cater more to the natural foods crowd. I can't find it down here yet, so I can't promise that it's any better than reg lunch meat, but I think it is. Their roast beef is heavenly! :::drools:::

My peanut butter right now is plain ol' crunchy Jif. It does have some sugar, but not too much and for me, it's worth a small splurge. Check the labels and pick one you like. The natural peanut butters don't have the taste/texture to satisfy me, so I'd rather just be careful with commercial.

Cheers,

Friday

Unhappy overeating?

I read something in Berenstein's book about over-eating. Simply stuffing your tummy can trigger a release of insulin... which leads to cravings... which causes over-eating. I second Karen's suggestion. If you can't seem to shake your cravings, divide up what you normally eat in half portions. Eat half and a big glass of water. Tell yourself that if you're really hungry you'll eat the rest in say 20 mins (give your tummy a bit more time to signal) If you are not _really_ hungry save it and eat a bit later say in an hour or two. This really helps keep the stomach from becoming too full. I found this works very well, but requires a certain amount of discipline (I'm still working on it) I found part of my problem is that I _like_ that full tummy feeling.

Good luck and let us know if things are better!

Smile Things have improved!

Well everyone thanks for all the great advice. Over the past few days my appetite has gone down and I am getting back to normal again. Hopefully the scale will say the same! I think it was the SF chocolate that did it to me. I will have to do my best to just stay away completely from it.

You were all a big help, thanks!
