This thread got me thinking of something my dad used to make us from his trips to the local sports bar. What he did was take a can of beer (I suppose I would use Michelob Ultra) and poor it into a crockpot. He then got some polish sausages or hot links (your preference) and put the sausages in the beer. He put the cover on the crockpot and cooked the sausages on the low setting for a few hours. He left the crock going all day and we got the sausages as we wanted, we just put them in a napkin, squirted mustard on them, and ate them just like that- sans bread/bun.
I wouldn't eat these on a daily basis, but once in a while... yum!

I think these would work well for Super Bowl sunday- something easy and very "manly". May take the mind off the chips and dip!

Steph, I can just see the flock swooping down on you the minute you leave the house! You probably have your own personal gull retinue just waiting for you.

If you've never seen a seagull eat a hotdog whole...it's a sight to behold!

I used to have my own personal seagull when I went to the McDonald's drive-thru' down on Pandora/Vancouver St... He waited on the roof of the school across the street and then flew down onto my windshield...Since I drive a LuminaAPV with the huge windshield, he'd sliiiiide down until he hit the wipers and got some "footing."
Then I would hand-feed him french fries out the window.

I knew it was the same seagull each time because his webbed foot had a hole in it. I bet he misses me!

That reminds me of when my daughter had her first bachelor apartment on View St. She let a gull hatch an egg on the balcony and then discovered she couldn't let any fresh air into the apartment all summer without baby gull coming in for a visit. Some experience!!

Sorry for the thread jack, OP but Steph's right - a gull eating ANYTHING whole is a sight to behold! And they can down monstrous chunks!!!!
