Question SF Peanut Butter Cups?

OMG where do you get these? This is my last vice and if there were a substitute... even for just one a week, lol, it would be great.

I just went to see Spiderman yesterday and I just drank my bottled water while everyone around me were eating popcorn and hot dogs...It was so hard!!!

Anyone have any other suggestions for something crunchy perhaps? And I'm still in induction so that eliminates the nuts...

Default Movie Snacks

I think one of the most difficult things about going to the movies is the smell of hot buttered popcorn.

Quite by accident, I had gone out for a low-carb lunch with my husband and son (who we were visiting).
We then went to the cinema and watched ET, as ET was the first movie that we had taken our son to 20 years ago!
The popcorn smell did not bother me at all then!

I think that we have been conditioned to EAT for just about any occasion! A small popcorn at the movies costs 5.00! Why subsidise them?

If all fails and you really need to munch how about celery sticks or something similar?

My attitide now when I don't eat carb laden stuff is that I am being good to myself, I am worth it-and so are you!

Have a great one!

oh yeah, sunflower seeds, they are addictive and you don't eat too many because you're shelling as you go... keeps me occupied.

Boy do I miss russel stover chocolates, I dont even have any hope of finding the sugarfree set here in the Bahamas, they are like Russell Who???

I take celery sticks in a baggie along with one of the mini peanut butter containers then I just dip and munch. Mind you, I have to take caution to just dip enough not to eat to much with each bite, but more to just add a little taste.

Also, I eat a hot dog with mayo on it minus the bread if I am really hungry. I usually know where I am for the day as far as carbs go to have room for it or not.

Thumbs up

Pumpkin seeds are the best!

For me, they satisfy the salt craving.

And pine nuts... I had forgotten completely about those. I don't even know where I'd buy them in Wyoming... but I'm on the hunt now!

Talking Pinioin pines...

I'm not familiar with the Rocky Mountain States...or what part of Wyoming you're from, but out here in the West we have pinion pines, south of us, in California and Nevada, and they can be harvested in the early Fall, before the squirrles get to them for storing for Winter. It's a messy, sappy job, and if you get hay fever easily, watch out! You have to shake the trees and that releases summer dust accumulation and pollen, by the bucketfuls.

An easier way to "harvest" them is at the grocery store. You can usually find them at the bigger stores, wherever they have nuts in bottles and cans. They come from China and they don't have such a strong "piney" taste or smell. Very good for you. Also, quite expensive. Good luck in your "gathering."

Cool

Then I am in luck.

We are going on vacation to Portland next week.

Actually we are moving there as well this summer. I will be able to find them easier than here (none in town today).

Thanks!

Wink I just had a thought...

I found a two pound bag of the little devils at Costco in Medford. I know there are a few Costcos in Portland. Got them much cheaper that way. They are very high in fat, vitamins, and nutrition. Hey! Welcome to the Great Northwest!
