I'm totally addicted to them too, so I feel your pian! Pop effects mine--if I have a diet coke-it won't turn and if I have a LOT of water, like 64oz in 4 hours, it's really lite, BECAUSE I've just diluted myself. So, I will tell you that I get the best results in the morning and I DO feel your pain!!

I know a lot of people don't like the ketostix, but I do. The key is definitely to use them once a day...only in the morning before you eat or drink anything. As was said earlier...that is the only way you'll know that exercise, recent food intake, and water is not impacting the results. Any shade is ketosis. Atkins does say, the more ketones, the better. But goes on to say that you shouldn't live by them...that's probably bcs. as you add more carbs back to your diet, the less ketones will be in your urine. However, Atkins also says that the more weight you have to lose, the more you should consider staying at induction levels longer. You can draw your own conclusions from that.

I like them...they're a good gauge for me as to how my eating and exercising is impacting my metabolism. Since I've only been on the diet since the beginning of January, I feel I need the additional reinforcement to ensure that I'm doing the right thing.

I just got a new pakg of these and there are a million things that will give you a false positive and a false negitive. Make sure you read the stuff in the box.

It also says they are highly effected by elevation so sea side and mountian areas will read different.
