The person at the health food store said that the powdered husks were better for you - said something about the capsule not digesting properly or something! The husks look like strawdust and taste like I would only imagine strawdust to!..but I just mix a tsp in about a 1/4 cup water and chug it down..then gulp another big glass of water. It's an aquired taste!! It really isn't sooo bad!

Yup, it's an acquired taste all right. I get mine from Vitamin Shoppe (check it out on Google or Dogpile.com). The fiber sold at Walmart or Walgreens has too much extra stuff in it. Also consider taking Aloe capusles. For the first time in my life, I'm not plagued by constipation.

Have a question about psyllium husks...been taking them, and now i'm hardly ever hungry. I was getting that way before, but now i think i could go all day and go to bed at night and not eat. (no, i'm not going to).

Do you still get hungry while taking them or is it just me?

I had two serving's yester day of psyllium husks (2 tablespoons with 250 mL of water). I instianlty felt full, and less hungry all day, my only problem is that I took them to get things hhhmmmmm...... moving along, and I am still waiting to get things moving today. It better happen soon as I am never irregular and it is worrying me a little.
