What really killed me was World Market - I went in there to buy some candle holders and every single delectable Christmas goodie was there, from After Eights to Lebkuchen to those sublime Ferraro Roche hazelnut things. I nearly lost it.

Whew! Good to know I'm not the only one dealing with cravings! Several of my students have come into class with Christmas gifts consisting of cookies and candy and one gave me a loaf of banana bread! What torture! It's all going home with me and directly to my boyfriend! I am proud to say that I only snuck a couple of bites...

Today, I spent a good chunk of time on the recipes forum to find some good stuff that is ok for me to eat and boy, did I come away with some tasty-looking recipes! Can't wait to try them out...

OH my god YES! i havent been posting recently.. or never did that much anyway. BUT this week has been driving me insane! I work at an internal medicine doctors office. We have 9 doctors and every freaking specialist, patient and pharm rep is sending the office treats, cookies, candies, cakes, candy, fruit baskets, (one sent a meat and cheese basket! ) Coffee stuff, biscotti. ANYWAY today was friday and i was fed up with it.. this HUGE chocolate box came today and i was so fed up with this crap. On monday i did eat a few pieces of popcorn (from the popcorn factory, you know those giant tubs? god those are great) BUT anyway.. I AM SO PROUD!! I didnt eat any this whole week.. And then we had a huge potluck today. Tons and Tons of food.... But there was plenty to eat, deviled eggs, ham, cheese, salads, turkey. BUT ANYWAY.. i was just coming on here to vent about how freaking sick i am of this holiday crap everywhere. I never noticed it before.. I love xmas.. but puhhleease... lets get this over with!

Default World Market

NYorker, Is this the same thing as Cost Plus World Market?

If so, mine (in N. CA) has a bunch of low carb treats as well as all the sugary stuff. They are kind of in their own section, but right next to some of the regular sugar filled candy.

Low carb cookies, chocolates... I always go there to buy my sugar free, zero carb maple syrup (Joseph's brand). YUM! Oh, and they have SF Torani syrups too.

My daughter came home for Xmas last night with fudge + baking that she had made. I must admit I tasted 1/2 a piece of fudge. It was fabulous! She also brought low carb coolers. We can't get them yet in B.C. My friend brought over tons of stuff she had made for me, as she knew I wouldn't have stuff in the house for my family. She meant well. So- my husband went out for the day today, leaving me home alone to wrap presents. I actually put all the goodies in a box and put it in the trunk of his car. Ha! I just didn't trust myself with the fudge etc. What ever works - right?

Shel - yeah, I know, I buy SF stuff at World Market too. I was just mourning all the Xmas treats from my childhood.
