I do not obsess about food. Having been large since about age 5 or 6 and having tried and failed at just about every diet out there, I have experienced a lot. I remember days when I stayed on my diet easily only to suddenly "give up". Even when I lost a significant amount of weight, it was not sufficient motivation to control my eating.
Atkins is different from everything else I have ever tried. Once I really cut out carbs, I find it easy to leave them alone. Before they called to me and I couldn't say no. When I opened a bag of candy or chips, I would eat the entire thing-not always at one time but withing 48 hours. There was no such thing as eating a serving of anything with carbs. I would eat until it was gone. And, at my worst, when it wa gone, I would go to the store and buy more.
To be free from that compulsion to eat is a miracle and I know that not everyone is alike and many do not experience what I have, but for me Atkins is a blessing and I am thankfulf or it.
