I couldn't agree more with the views you've espoused here.
I've always been perplexed why people seem to be so completely fixated and compulsive on a milligram of carbs, but seemingly without any concern what so ever over physical activity.
Rationally speaking, if one takes control of the energy expenditure side of this equation, then whatever carbs we might happen to "cheat" on will have absolutely no effect.
So, why not once in a blue moon enjoy that REAL sugared ice cream or REAL sugared chocolate cake, but pay for it with some excercise the next morning? In the end, isn't that both easier and more conducive to longterm happiness and harmony than opting for, in my view, the unrealistic expectations of lifetime abstinence?
