Default Anyone Drink Seltzer Water?

While drinking plain water is healthy, it also gets boring. I've started drinking carbonated Seltzer water. It's sodium free, zero fat/carbs/calories and naturally flavored. Is this just as good for us as plain water? B/c it's carbonated it somewhat seems like you're drinking a soda but better. Comments welcome...

Thumbs up

I also drink lots of seltzer water. My favorites are Canfields and La Croix. I also drink lots of tap water. I am trying to drink more tap. I used to drink 100% seltzer and now I am about 50%,50% between them both. That's all I drink is water!

I drink carbonated/flavored waters....I personally think it's fine...and better than nothing. Which, in my case is what it would be if I didn't have it! I gag on tap water....hate the stuff!!

Hi and welcome....

Yes I actually drink Lacroix brand (My mom used to give it to me in place of soda as a kid, so I love it!) in rasberry and lemon flavors. There is another brand called Talking Rain that is delish!

I actually like these better than pop!

mfo,

DANDR pg. 230:

9. You must drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of pure water daily. This can be filtered, mineral or spring water (not seltzer). You may also have unlimited amounts of herbal tea (without sugar), but these do not count toward your total of eight glasses.

HTH,

Jones

to help the taste of plain ole water you might ice it up and use lemon, lime or an orange squeezed in.

A lot of people can drink it better from a sports bottle or using a straw.

I have a pur filter at home and that helps the "taste" of the water a lot.

Default Jones-Unlimited Herbal Tea??

You may also have unlimited amounts of herbal tea (without sugar),

Does this mean that the Green Herbal Tea's (decaf without sweetener) do not have any carbs, therefore we can drink an unlimited amount??

I thought all teas (regular and herbal) had 1 carb for ea 8 oz (or ea tea bag??)

Thnx.

Default Calling all tea drinkers...

Could someone please jump in and answer this question? I don't drink tea and, consequently, don't know anything about the carb counts associated with it.

Thanks,

Jones

My impression is that herbal teas are carb free, while fruit teas (and other teas that aren't really TEA) have traces of carbs. To be safe, you can count each bag of fruit tea as 1g.

Does that help?

I dont have a comment about teas, however I do have a comment about carbonated drinks, with sugar or without....
Years ago I would get up & start drinking Dr Peppers indiscriminately thru the day ( about 8 12oz cans a day Id say) and I was having a problem with my intestines and bloating & EXTREME pain.... I couldnt figure out what it was & the docs I went to told me it was just IBS and to live with it.....

Well, one day there werent any DrPeppers in the coke machine at work so for one day I didnt get my sodas because I didnt like any of the others & would rather do without.

I noticed that day by lunchtime that my guts werent killing me and my pants werent tight from swollen intestines and trapped gas that day. On a normal day my early morning jean size would be 1-2 sizes smaller than my afternoon/evening size jean size because of the swelling.

The only thing different in my life at that point is that I wasnt drinking soda. I thought about it & wondered if it could have been that. I made a note to analyse the situation the next time I drank sodas & I would test myself a few days here & there to see what happens when I did & didnt drink sodas.

There was NO DOUBT..... when I drank carbonated beverages of ANY TYPE my intestines swell and swell and swell and I become extremely miserable and in ALOT of pain.

Today its a rare day that I drink a carbonated drink though I do have one every so often.

My brother in law was taken to the doctor with alot of symptoms of feeling really really weak that had been building up & the end result after many many tests was that his PH was abnormal because he drank "too many" carbonated beverages.

I just wanted to share these stories with you, not to scare you, but to make you aware of what consuming ALOT of carbonated drinks can do to you.
