Default a few things along with a question

Hey guys...

I just wanted to post and say how dissapointed I am in myself. No, this really is not meant to be a pity party lol. However I pulled out all of my size 14 summer clothes that I just bought last summer and guess what?!?! They don't fit! I am very dissapointed that I let the stress of my divorce get to me so badly that I gained about 25 pds. I took forever to take it off the first time.....and now it feels like it is taking forever this time (I am losing 1 pd average per week and have lost about 5 pds) I seriously doubt I am getting back into my skinny clothes this summer.

On the upside my dbf says I literally lost my butt overnight. Hehe. I have a hard time seeing it but he says I am firming up and losing it thought it really does not reflect numbers wise and I have yet to find my tape measure from the move (todays project I think). He's gotten pissy to that the numbers don't move but yet he seems to have lost his beer gut overnight to.

My question is really which is better milk or heavy cream? Does it really make a difference? I have to have a latte daily. No bashing please but it is a necessity when you work the night shift. I hate regular coffee. I always make mine with sugar/carb free syrups. I was using 1/2 cup milk which is 5 carbs but a 1/2 cup heavy cream is 5 carbs....so which is better? Does using the heavy cream vs the milk make a weight loss difference?

Thanks guys....

Actually, 1/2 cup of milk is more in the range of 6 grams of carb plus 1 or 2 grams for the coffee (yes, coffee has carbs) so your lattes could be running you 8 grams of carb each. If you're on induction, that's almost half of your daily carb allowance.
1/2 cup of heavy cream has 3.25 grams of carb as long as there are no added sugars (check the package) and would put your lattes at closer to 5 grams each.
Using dairy (milk OR cream) does seem to cause stalls in some people as well as caffeine, so if you're unhappy with the rate of your weight loss and you've ruled out all other possilble stallers it might be something to consider cutting but you'll have to decide for yourself if giving up your lattes is worth losing a few extra pounds a month (if it really is the lattes slowing you down...a few weeks without should show you whether it is or not).

Thank you......I'm going to try to switching completley from dairy first, if that does not work then I will give it up all together (grr, not cool on the night shift but being skinny is more worth it) Thanks for helping me out.

Default Cream or milk?

Understand the night shift is a tough one to do caffine free.
Coffee does have carbs and I too have to watch it. Caffine is not my nemesis in regard to weight loss and many folks dont get burdened by it but it is not good for you health wise overall.
I found a good site:
http://www.ineedcoffee.com/03/coffeediet/
Thats helped me get offa the wild caffine intake I had pre Atkins.

Now the cream question-
GET RID OF THE MILK-
it has lactose and that ose means SUGAR
Mix your cream with water-make your cream 1/4 c or less- experiment then 1/4 c water.
Pretend you are trying to make instant pudding and all you have is cream-what would you do? You would have to add water or it would be too thick. Same with your coffee.

Wow- what an eye opener. Honestly I never knew that the espresso had carbs in it. I usually only have 1-2 shots per day. That website was awesome.

I have been doing a lot of reflecting on what I am doing wrong. I have 2 lattes per day, 1 when I first get up and 1 on my way to work. Howver in between I do consume soda pop and while I try to get the brands that are sweetened with splenda I have not been so good about that latley, and have been slacking on the water which is a no-no

I won't drink milk anymore. In fact I got the stuff today to make a mock milk using 1/2 n 1/2. I also have heavy cream I will cut in half. I made my second latte today and used 1/2 cup cream and steamed in my machine which proved to be way to much cream. I ended uop throwing half of my latte away and am feeling like I don't need it anyway.

So my plan of action is to make my lattes with the cream, and cut back on the soda in between. I already drink lots of water...I don't make the soda or my latte my main choice beverage....
