Yes - cabbage is allowed. I cook it in butter and use 1 tablespoon for every cup of cabbage. The list of vegetables you can eat on induction is on page 126 of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution. After induction you can subtract the fiber from your total carb. count. Check out Fitday. com, too. It's awesome!

I put a pork roast in the oven, covered, fat side up. When it's almost done, I throw in a head of chopped cabbage, baste it all over with the drippings, and throw it back in the oven. MAN IS IT GOOD!!!!!!

WHaaaaat??? I didn't realize i had to wait until after induction to subtract the fiber? I've totally screwed up then. Sheesh. (But I still lost 6 1/2 pounds and stayed in ketosis). Hmmm.

You know what - I could be wrong. I read that somewhere on the forum and just repeated it here, but since you've pointed it out - I looked in the book and couldn't find anywhere that we couldn't subtract the fiber during induction.
Maybe this is going to require a little more research...

I've recently been reading on Induction and visited the Atkins website and nowhere does it say you can't calculate net carbs on Induction.

I think Induction would be the prime place to learn how to calculate net carbs so we can carry this knowledge with us as we proceed through the other phases.

I love my cabbage....fried in butter with salt and pepper! YUM!
