Smile Okay....Here goes! My Intro

[B][FONT=arial][COLOR=indigo]Hi...My name is Beth and I'm starting Protein Power Tomorrow.

Not really sure what to say in this Intro except that I have done Low Carb before, Atkins. And found it mostly easy to stick with. Did get kinda bored with all the meat, but I lost almost 40 pounds. Then I some health problems (Unrelated to the diet) and all the weight came right back. I was very discouraged and did hop right back on. I wish i had now. 30lbs heavier than when i started the first time. I am a type 2 diabetic, and I have PCOS which convinces me that this is the way i should be eating. My doctor is to the point of suggesting Weight Loss Surgery if this doesn't work, so, for my health...It has to work this time.

Oh...the reason i use the name Tillie....Is after the Lady...Tillie Tooter. She was the 90 year old woman who was drove off the road and survived in a swamp for days before she was found. I figured I could use a tough ole broad as a talisman....LOL.....I look forward to making many friends her. I know i'll be needing a lot of support, and i'll try to give it as well.....

Beth

Hello Beth,

Glad you have come aboard our forum. There is a ton of information and encouragement here for you.

My dr. also wanted me to have WLS. So I proposed Atkins to him. After my blood work, he said ok.

I have never done any LC before so I am hoping to lose faster.
I was doing WW for over a year with sooo slow losses that it was discouraging.

I feel so much better doing Atkins.

Default Love the name!

Welcome Beth AKA Tillie!

With a name like that, you are bound to lose and lose BIG! We all like being BIG losers around here!

You will find a wealth of information here, and also a ton of people who know a ton about LCing. Make sure you read your plan well, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Someone is bound to have some information for you.

I would also highly suggest reading journals of others who are doing PP. It is sooo helpful to see what others cook, eat, and do to make the plan work. You will get some great insight there (and make some good friends along the way).

Have fun, we are glad you are here!

Amy

Welcome Beth/Tillie,

I also started low carbing as a last ditch effort before weight loss surgery and it has been a success for me. If you got bored with the food last time you tried low carbing, check out the recipe section on this forum. There are lots of interesting ideas there for meals that don't center around meat.

I think many of us were facing surgery as a last resort when we chose LCing instead, Beth! I know that was my situation. The doctor had dragged out the anotomical model and everything...YIKES!!!

Today I'm down 133 pounds and no surgery!

You can do it too. Make it so!

Donald
